My work varies quite widely in subject matter, media choices and style and I take inspiration from many sources, often from nature and my surroundings. I am intrigued by the forces and cycles of nature; the patterns, beauty and science of it all, and am fascinated by our interaction as humans with our world - both creative and destructive.
When I'm not making art in one form or another, I can usually be found gardening, (spring/summer), or cooking and feeding folk, (autumn/winter). I also enjoy walking, although "dawdling" is probably a better description, as I constantly stop to look at the views all around, (or to examine and photograph or sketch the flora, fauna and other small-scale details of the path itself).
I was born in Yorkshire but I count myself extremely fortunate to now live in Ayrshire on Scotland's west coast where I find a wealth of inspiration and from where I can travel to such wonderful places as the Isle of Arran, wild glens & mountains, tranquil lochs or the bustle of Glasgow city within an hour. How lucky am I?
