I started taking photographs when I was 14 and my aged great uncle gave me my first camera and a full set of dark room equipment. His inspiration has stayed with me through the decades and I hold him responsible for my continuing interest in black and white photography.
I still like to work in monochrome, exploring in particular images of people, their faces and mood they imply through their expressions and the way they hold themselves. These ideas can often be expressed through a series of similar shots.
My colour work is predominantly old Scottish landscapes using low light to capture sunsets and, sometimes, images of the moon.
