Biography

Kevan McGinty

I am widely travelled in my search for inspirational subject matter, having hiked and sketched extensively in the Scottish Western Highlands, from the Trossachs in the south to Ardnamurchan in the west and as far north as Inverpollaidh Forest. I have also toured the French and Swiss Alps and the Italian Dolomites, have walked extensively in Cumbria's Lake District and Eden Valley, and explored the lakelands of County Kerry and Connemara in Ireland.

I studied for my Fine Art Degree at Loughborough College of art and also completed a Diploma in Theatrical Scenic Art at London's Central School of Speech and Drama, both of which gave me a solid foundation for functioning in the world as an artist.

I have undertaken various jobs to complement my vocation, including helping to set up and manage a successful art gallery, and have been a self-employed picture framer for many years.

All this time I have continued to paint and exhibit my work in numerous galleries and continue to participate in mixed and solo exhibitions. My work is in collections countrywide and abroad.
