Dawn Maciocia is a collage artist based in Fife who likes to create paintings using torn hand painted papers in place of the painted brushstroke. Mainly self-taught, she has always liked working with her hands and has a history of sculpting ranging from making salt dough and plaster figurines to creating mould designs for the chocolate industry.
As a mature student she attended college where she gained an HNC in Art and Design. It was during this time she was introduced to mixed media, printmaking and the fun of using paints and inks to make various marks on paper. Since then, her work has evolved into creating colourful artworks using acrylics, inks and paper collage.
