Ian McKay

I paint urban landscapes.I am influenced by Hopper and in particular Mario Sironi. I attempt to capture the isolation and remoteness from nature in post- industrial peripheral city living. I attended Glasgow Art School as a mature student from 1985 - 89 in Fine art drawing and painting. I live in a highrise on the outskirts of Glasgow on the flightpath to the airport and a few planes have inadvertantly taxied on to my paintings as have other familiar people and objects that I know and love
