biography:
Born in Trinidad of Scottish parents, for Norman Gilbert, painting is the career 'that would last a lifetime'. Sophisticated compositions of reassuring order and spacial depth constructed using surface pattern and linear perspective.Having Studied at Glasgow School of Art, the paintings are a record of a family, its fashions from the fifties onwards, and its homes from a caravan beside a piggery, to the large Victorian terrace house, in Glasgow, where he now lives and works.
