biography: Retired professional photographer with a lifetime interest in wild, mountainous landscapes, especially but not exclusively Scottish
As a professional photographer I knew about composition,colour, and was quite good at drawing. So, I got started in water colour and dabbled in almost everything else until becoming pretty settled on acrylics. Subject matter initially chose itself as I was still hillwalking and had a large number of images on my computer, culled from 50 years of climbing and walking - all the Munro's - Lake District -North Wales -Pyrenees - Alps and Himalayas - with Scotland remaining favourite. Joining an art club, in my case the Glasgow Southern Art Club, brought me into contact with other artists and ideas, so that now, I find the occasional urge to try still life, street scenes etc.
