biography:
I am a Scottish born artist living in Fife. I graduated in 2007 with a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art Drawing and Painting from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee. The same year I was awarded the John Kinross Scholarship which enabled me to study in the city of Florence. I was also awarded the Scottish Further Education Unit Prize.
My work began as a direct reflection of my thoughts and emotions paying particular attention to the surroundings in my home and the everyday objects which encircle me. Almost like an autobiography or a biography, my work relates to my experiences, thoughts and emotions, ever changing and never ending. My work focuses exclusively with light and dark and the effect it has on everyday items within my home I have referred to works by Caravaggio, M C Escher, James Velario, Robert Longo, William Kentridge, Lewis Chamberlain as well as Vincent Desiderio.
Since leaving Art School in May 2007 I have been continually producing new works. I am currently working on numerous drawings to be shown in various different art galleries around the UK.
